Anuradha Thakur gets extension as Additional Secretary, M/o Corporate Affairs

Anuradha Thakur (IAS:1994:HP) will continue as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for another year, as her central deputation tenure has been extended.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (19.03.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved to extend the deputation tenure of Ms. Thakur for a period of one year beyond March 24, 2025 i.e. upto March 24, 2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Thakur has been serving as Additional Secretary in the ministry since January 2022.

IAS Sandeep Kumar Singh repatriated to parent cadre

Sandeep Kumar Singh (IAS:2011:AGMUT), currently serving as Private Secretary to Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister for Culture & Tourism, has been repatriated to his parent cadre (AGMUT). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (19.03.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to repatriate Mr. Singh to his parent cadre with the provision of extended cooling off. He is directed to immediately relinquish his duties and report to his parent cadre.

He was appointed as Private Secretary on July 3, 2024, with his tenure initially expected to continue until September 30, 2025, marking the completion of his four-year central deputation. However, his repatriation has been implemented ahead of schedule.

UP: 7 IPS officers transferred, UK Agrawal is new IG Security

In a continued push to restructure the police administration, the Uttar Pradesh government issued transfer orders for seven IPS officers on Thursday morning. This move is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen law enforcement and improve administrative efficiency. Over the past three days, numerous transfer orders have been issued, affecting both Indian Police Service (IPS) and Provincial Police Service (PPS) officers.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Upendra Kumar Agrawal (IPS:2005:UP), IG, Economic Offence Wing (EOW), Lucknow, has been transferred and posted as IG, Security, Lucknow.
  2. Vinod Kumar Singh (IPS:2007:UP), IG, Security, Lucknow, has been transferred and posted as Additional CP, Crime & Hqrs, Police Commissionerate, Kanpur City.
  3. Amit Verma (IPS:2008:UP), Joint CP, Law & Order, Police Commissionerate, Lucknow, has been transferred and posted as Joint CP, Crime & Hqrs, Police Commissionerate, Lucknow.
  4. Bablu Kumar (IPS:2009:UP), Joint CP, Crime & Hqrs, Police Commissionerate, Lucknow, has been transferred and posted as Joint CP, Law & Order, Police Commissionerate, Lucknow.
  5. Pradeep Kumar (IPS-SPS:2015), SP, ANTF, Hqrs, Lucknow, has been transferred and posted as SP, EOW, Varanasi.
  6. SM Qasim Abidi (IPS:2017:UP), SP, Vigilance Establishment, Lucknow, has been transferred and posted as DCP, Police Commissionerate, Kanpur City.
  7. Manoj Kumar Awasthi (IPS-SPS), SP/Additional SP, Rural, Shahjahanpur, has been transferred and posted as SP, Law & Order, DGP Hqrs, Lucknow.

Delhi govt appoints six DANICS officers as Secretaries to Cabinet Ministers

With the formation of the new BJP government in Delhi, the administration has swiftly moved to ensure smooth governance. Following the recent appointments in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the government on Wednesday cleared the appointment of six DANICS officers as Secretaries to Cabinet Ministers.

The newly appointed officers are as follows:

  1. Rajeev Shukla (DANICS:2003), currently Special Secretary in Land & Building, has been appointed as Secretary to Minister Pravesh Sahib Singh, overseeing Public Works Department, Legislative Affairs, Irrigation & Flood Control, Water, and Gurudwara Elections.
  2. Anoop Thakur (DANICS:2008), serving as Director in DDA, has been appointed as Secretary to Ashish Sood, Minister of Home, Power, Urban Development, Education, Higher Education, and Training & Technical Education.
  3. Vadodaria Karanjit P (DANICS:2009), Joint Commissioner in Trade & Taxes, will now serve as Secretary to Ravinder Singh (Indraj), Minister of Social Welfare for SC & ST, Cooperative, and Election.
  4. Vaibhav Rikhari (DANICS:2013), ADM (North East), Revenue Department, has been appointed as Secretary to Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh, responsible for Health & Family Welfare, Transport, and Information Technology.
  5. Mohit Mishra (DANICS:2013), currently Director at NDMC, has been named Secretary to Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, handling portfolios of Industries, Food & Supplies, Environment, and Forest & Wildlife.
  6. Vinay Kumar Jindal (DANICS:2014), ADM (West), Revenue Department, has been appointed as Private Secretary to Minister Kapil Mishra, who oversees Law & Justice, Labour, Employment, Development, Art & Culture, Language, and Tourism.

Earlier, on February 27, three IAS officers were appointed in the Chief Minister’s Office, with Dr. Madhu Rani Teotia (IAS:2008:AGMUT) as Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Sandeep Kumar Singh (IAS:2011:AGMUT) and Ravi Jha (IAS:2011:AGMUT) as Special Secretaries to the Chief Minister.

Punjab: 5 IAS/PCS officers shifted; 2 Districts get new DCs

The Punjab government has issued transfer and posting orders for four IAS officers and one PCS officer. As part of the reshuffle, two districts will now have new Deputy Commissioners (DCs).

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Himanshu Jain (IAS:2017:PB), Deputy Commissioner, Roopnagar, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana.
  2. Varjeet Walia (IAS:2018:PB), Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister with additional charge of Additional CEO, Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Roopnagar.
  3. Nirmal Ouseppachan (IAS:2019:PB), Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Mansa, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Coordination with additional charge of OSD to Chief Secretary.
  4. Simarandeep Singh (IAS:2021:PB), Additional Secretary, Coordination with additional charge of OSD to Chief Secretary, has been transferred and posted as Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister with additional charge of Additional CEO, Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion.
  5. Tarsem Chand (PCS:2018), SDM, Samana, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Excise Commissioner (Excise & Distilleries), Patiala.

Chhattisgarh: Two IAS officers promoted to Chief Secretary grade

The Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday (19.03.2025) promoted promoted two IAS officers of the 1995 batch to the Chief Secretary grade. Since both officers are currently on central deputation, they have been granted a proforma promotion.

They are;

  1. Maninder Kaur Dwivedi
  2. Gaurav Dwivedi

Maninder Kaur Dwivedi is presently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, while Gaurav Dwivedi holds the position of CEO of Prasar Bharati.

Maharashtra: Six IAS officers transferred, Aanchal Goyal is new Collector of Mumbai City

The Maharashtra government on Tuesday (18.03.2025) appointed Aanchal Goyal (IAS:2014:MH) as the new Collector of Mumbai City district. The position had been vacant since the transfer of Sanjay Yadav (IAS:2009:MH) last month. Prior to this assignment, she was Nagpur Additional Commissioner with additional charge of CEO at Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Ltd (NSSCDCL).

With this appointment, she joins a list of distinguished women IAS officers who have held the post, including Sharwaree Gokhale, Valsa Nair Singh, Ashwini Joshi, I A Kundan, Shaila A and Sampada Mehta.

Along with Goyal’s appointment, the state government has reshuffled several other IAS officers. Ankit (IAS:2019:MH), who was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zilla Parishad, Jalagaon, has now been posted as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zilla Parishad, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Additionally, Minal Karanwal (IAS:2019:MH), who was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zilla Parishad, Nanded, has been transferred as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zilla Parishad, Jalgaon.

Further, Kavali Meghana (IAS:2021:MH), who was serving as Project Director for the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP) in Kinwat and as Assistant Collector of Kinwat Sub Division, has been now been posted as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zilla Parishad Nanded.

In Nashik, IAS officer Karishma Nair (IAS:2021:MH), who was serving as Project Director of ITDP, Jawhar and Assistant Collector of Jawhar Sub Division, Palghar, has been transferred as Additional Municipal Commissioner of Nashik Municipal Corporation. Meanwhile, Ranjit Mohan Yadav (IAS:2022:MH), who was Assistant Collector of Kurkheda Sub Division, Gadchiroli, has been posted as Project Officer for the ITDP in Gadchiroli and will also serve as Assistant Collector of Gadchiroli Sub Division.

Proteek Kumar Chakraborty selected as Director (Finance), ECIL

Proteek Kumar Chakraborty has been selected for appointment as Director (Finance), Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on March 19, 2025. Presently, he is serving as Additional General Manager (Finance), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).

He will be appointed to the post of Director (Finance) after receiving vigilance clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Kaushlendra Pratap Singh re-designated as Director in Ministry of Defence

Kaushlendra Pratap Singh (ITS:2011), currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, has been re-designated as Director. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (19.03.2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal to re-designate Mr. Singh ’s post to Director level with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the re-designated post, and for a period up to February 12, 2028 i.e. total tenure of five years under central staffing scheme.

It is noteworthy that Kaushlendra Pratap Singh began his central deputation tenure on February 13, 2023.

Bihar: Navdeep Shukla gets addl. charge of MD, BSEIDC

The Bihar government on Tuesday (18.03.2025) appointed Navdeep Shukla (IAS:2013:BH), currently serving as Director of Animal Husbandry, as the Managing Director (MD) of the Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (BSEIDC). He will hold this position as an additional charge.

Until now, Yogendra Singh (IAS:2013:BH), Director of Secondary Education, had been managing the additional responsibilities of State Project Director, Bihar Educational Project Board, and MD of the BSEIDC. With Shukla’s appointment, Singh has been relieved of the latter responsibility.
