Rajesh S Gokhale gets tenure extension as Biotechnology Secretary

The tenure of Rajesh S Gokhale, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, has been extended. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (September 24, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the extension of Dr. Gokhale’s tenure with effect from November 1, 2025, till his superannuation on January 31, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Notably, Dr Gokhale was appointed to the post on October 26, 2021 and assumed charge on October 31, 2021, for an initial tenure of two years. Before his tenure could end on October 31, 2023, he was granted a two-year extension till October 31, 2025. With this latest extension, he will now continue in office until his retirement.

Zuber Mohd appointed Deputy Secretary in Department of Sports

Zuber Mohd (IOFS:2014), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Defence, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Olympics Division under the Department of Sports, Delhi, for a period of two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (September 24, 2025), Mr. Zuber will serve in the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for two years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IRS officer Prateek Mishra appointed Director in Department of Justice

IRS officer Prateek Kumar Mishra (IRS-IT:2011), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Department of Justice for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (September 24, 2025), Mr. Mishra will serve in the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for five years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IES officer Tamanna Sinha appointed Deputy Secretary in Central Vigilance Commission

Tamanna Sinha (IES:2012), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Economic Affairs, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) for a period of four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (September 24, 2025), Ms. Sinha will serve in the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for four years from the date of taking over charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IAS Ramesh Verma appointed Director in Department of Youth Affairs

IAS officer Ramesh Verma (IAS:2009:AGMUT), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Department of Youth Affairs (My Bharat Division), Delhi, for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (September 24, 2025), Mr. Verma will serve in the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for five years from the date of taking over charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Ramesh Verma is currently serving as Chairman, DSSSB, with additional charge of Director, UTCS.

Two Additional Judges made Permanent in Madras HC

The Union government on Wednesday (September 24, 2025) notified the appointment of two Additional Judges of the Madras High Court as Permanent Judges of that High Court. The decision follows the Supreme Court Collegium’s recommendation made on September 15, 2025.

These judges are ;

  1. Justice N Senthilkumar
  2. Justice G Arul Murugan

IAS Ira Singhal appointed Deputy Secretary in School Education Dept

IAS officer Ira Singhal (IAS:2015:AGMUT), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of School Education & Literacy, Delhi, for a tenure of four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (September 24, 2025), Ms. Singhal will serve in the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for four years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Ira Singhal is currently serving as Special Secretary, Education, Arunachal Pradesh.

SS Yadav takes charge as Managing Director of KRIBHCO

SS Yadav has assumed charge as the Managing Director of Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) with effect from September 24, 2025.

Mr. Yadav has been associated with KRIBHCO as Director since December 2019 and brings with him over three decades of distinguished experience in public administration and corporate leadership. An accomplished professional, he holds expertise in project management, personnel management, financial management, and community development.

An engineering graduate from the G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Mr. Yadav belongs to the 1989 batch of the Indian Telecom Services (ITS). He also holds a Master’s degree in Public Management from the prestigious London School of Economics (LSE).

During his illustrious career spanning over 30 years, Mr. Yadav has held several key positions, including 18 years in senior leadership roles in the telecom sector under the Government of India. He also served as Director, National Disaster Management Authority (2009–2011), and Director, Election Commission of India (2012–2014).

IRS officer Davinder Chodha appointed Deputy Secretary at GeM

Davinder Chodha (IRS-IT:2015), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) under the Department of Commerce, Delhi. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (September 23, 2025), Mr. Chodha will serve in the post for a combined tenure of four years, i.e., up to March 14, 2028 (counting both the ex-cadre deputation and CSS deputation together) from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Tariq Thomas appointed Director in Dept of Commerce

IAS officer Tariq Thomas (IAS:2011:AGMUT), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Department of Commerce, Delhi, for five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (September 23, 2025), Mr Thomas will serve to the post for a period of five years under the Central Staffing Scheme from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Tariq Thomas is currently serving as Secretary, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) since December 2024.
