Neeraj Surendran appointed Deputy Secretary in Skill Development Ministry

Neeraj Surendran (IDAS:2015), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Defence, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, New Delhi.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (October 1, 2025), Mr. Surendran will serve in the post for a period of four years under the Central Staffing Scheme from the date of taking charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Ambica Anand appointed Director in Ministry of Steel

Ms. Ambica Anand (ISS:2009), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Steel.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (October 1, 2025), Ms. Anand will serve in the post for a period of five years under the Central Staffing Scheme from the date of taking charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Anand Mohan appointed Joint MD (Coop & IT) at NAFED

IRTS officer Anand Mohan (IRTS:2012) has been appointed as Joint Managing Director (Cooperative & IT) of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (NAFED), New Delhi.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (October 1, 2025), the competent authority has approved his appointment to the post on deputation basis under the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare (a Non-CSS post) for a period of four years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

He will hold the post at the Deputy Secretary level.

Kapil Verma gets extension as Director in Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas

The central deputation tenure of Kapil Verma (IDES:2004) as Director in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG) has been extended for two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (October 1, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas to extend Mr. Verma’s deputation tenure for two years beyond January 3, 2026, up to January 3, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Notably, Kapil Verma was appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for four years on November 24, 2020, and took charge on January 3, 2021. He was later re-designated as Director. Before completion of his four-year tenure, he was granted a one-year extension till January 3, 2026. With the latest order, his deputation has now been further extended for two more years.

Arun G appointed Deputy Secretary in D/o Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare

Arun G (IES:2012), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (October 1, 2025), Mr. Arun will serve in the post for a period of four years under the Central Staffing Scheme from the date of taking charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Rahul Pachori gets extension as Director in D/o School Education & Literacy

The central deputation tenure of Rahul Pachori (IRSEE:2010) as Director in the Department of School Education & Literacy has been extended for two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (October 1, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal of the Department of School Education & Literacy to extend Mr. Pachori’s deputation tenure for two years beyond January 14, 2026, up to January 14, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Notably, Rahul Pachori was appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of School Education & Literacy for four years on December 2, 2020, and took charge of the post on January 14, 2021. He was later re-designated as Director. Before completion of his four-year tenure, he was granted a one-year extension till January 14, 2026. Now, with the latest order, his deputation has been further extended for two years.

Sameer Pandey’s Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti tenure extended

The central deputation tenure of Sameer Pandey (IRS-C&CE:2010) as Joint Commissioner (Director level) in the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has been extended for two years.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (October 1, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of School Education & Literacy to extend Mr. Pandey’s deputation tenure for a period of two years beyond November 5, 2025, up to November 5, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IAS officer M Arvind appointed Director in DPIIT

IAS officer M Arvind (IAS:2011:TN) has been appointed as Director in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) for five years.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (September 30, 2025), the competent authority has approved his appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years from the date he assumes charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Prashant Kumar appointed Director in DPIIT’s Technical Support Unit

Prashant Kumar (IRSME:2011), recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Railways, has been appointed as Director in the Technical Support Unit (TSU) under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (September 30, 2025), Kumar will serve under the Central Staffing Scheme from the date of assuming charge of the post. His tenure will be for a combined period of five years — including ex-cadre deputation and CSS deputation — up to September 18, 2027, or co-terminus with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (PMGS NMP), or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Tiakala Lynda Yaden gets six-month extension as EPFO FA&CAO

In a key development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of entrustment of additional charge of Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer (FA&CAO) in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to Tiakala Lynda Yaden (IP&TA&FS:1994).

According to the order issued by DoPT on October 1, 2025, Yaden, who is currently serving as Financial Commissioner (JS level) in ESIC under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, will continue to hold the charge of FA&CAO, EPFO for a further period of six months w.e.f. August 9, 2025 or until a regular incumbent is appointed, whichever is earlier.

Earlier, the ACC had given ex-post facto approval for her entrustment of this additional charge for a period of three months beginning May 9, 2025.
