Delhi HC grants 2 more months to CBI to complete probe in Rakesh Asthana bribery case
(PTI) : The Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted two more months to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to complete the probe in a bribery case allegedly involving the agency’s then special director Rakesh Asthana. Justice Vibhu Bakhru made it clear that no further time would be granted to the agency to complete the investigation in the case.
The court passed the order while disposing of a plea by the CBI seeking extension of time to complete the probe in the case by six months.
A G Sarma appointed India’s High Commissioner to Australia
Anumula Gitesh Sarma (IFS:1986) was appointed as India’s next High Commissioner to Australia on Monday. He is expected to take up the assignment shortly. Sarma will replace A.M. Gondane as the High Commissioner to Australia.
He had been serving as Secretary (West) in the MEA before the appointment.
