Modi government effected major bureaucratic reshuffle

The Narendra Modi government , on Friday, effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle at Secretary and Additional Secretary level.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. Ms. Amita Prasad (IAS:1985:KN) has been appointed to the post of Chairperson, Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) in the rank and pay of Secretary by temporarily upgrading the post. Presently, she is Director General, National Productivity Council, Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
  2. Arun Kumar Jha (IES:1985) has been appointed as Director General, National Productivity Council in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary vice Ms Amita Prasad. Presently, he is posted in the Cadre.
  3. Ms. Jyoti Arora (IAS:1987:HY) appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology by temporarily upgrading the vacant post of Joint Secretary & Financial Advisor. Presently, she is posted in the Cadre.
  4. Rajesh Verma (IAS:1987:OR) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare against existing vacancy. Presently, he is posted in the Cadre.
  5. Indevar Pandey (IAS:1988:WB) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of Joint Secretary. Presently, he is posted in the Cadre.
  6. Bharat Lal (IFoS:1988) appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of Joint Secretary. Presently, he is Additional Secretary to the President.
  7. Shashank Priya (IRS-C&CE:1988) has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Commerce & Industry against existing vacancy. Presently, he is in Cadre (GST Council).

08 IES officers empanelled as Joint Secretary level in GoI

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, on Thursday (18 July), has approved empanelment of 08 officers of 1996 batch of Indian Economic Service (IES) for holding Joint Secretary / Joint Secretary equivalent rank post in Government of India.

They are :

  1. Chandni Raina
  2. Aparna Bhatia
  3. Antony Cyriac
  4. A. Srija
  5. Simmi Chaudhary
  6. Dinesh Kapila
  7. Geetu Joshi
  8. P.K Abdul Kareem

Baldev Harpal Singh appointed as Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra

(PTI) Baldev Harpal Singh (IAS:1989:MH) has been appointed as the new Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Maharashtra on Thursday. He will oversee the Assembly elections in the state, expected to be announced by mid-September this year.

Singh replaced Ashwani Kumar (IAS:1987:MH), who was the CEO earlier. Singh was on central deputation before this, working as Development Commissioner of the Santa Cruz Exclusive Processing Zone, SEZ Mumbai. (PTI)

Before that he was principal secretary in the state labour department.

Assam : Two IAS officers given new assignments

The Assam government, on Friday, issued transfer and posting orders of two IAS officers in the state.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. B R Samal (IAS:1992:AM) has been relived from additional charge of Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare Department and posted as Principal Secretary, Cooperation Department in addition to his substantive post. He will continue to be Principal Secretary, Transport, Food and Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Deptts.
  2. Avinash Purushottam Das Joshi (IAS:1994:AM) has been relived from additional charge of Principal Secretary, Cooperation Department and posted as Principal Secretary, Sports & Youth Department in addition to his substantive post. He will continue to be Principal Secretary, Water Resource, Public Health Engineering, Mines & Minerals Deptts.

Four IPS officers transferred in Bihar
