GC Murmu appointed as L-G of J&K, RK Mathur as L-G of Ladakh
Girish Chandra Murmu (IAS:1985:G) has been appointed as Lt. Governor of Jammu-Kashmir and R K Mathur (Retd. IAS:1977:TR) as Lt. Governor of Ladakh. While Murmu is serving as the Expenditure Secretary in the Union Finance Ministry, Mathur has served as the Defence Secretary and is a former Chief Information Commissioner (CIC). The two Union Territories will come into existence on 31st of October.
P.S. Sreedharan Pillai has been appointed the new Governor of Mizoram. The incumbent Governor of the Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik has been moved to Goa.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, on Friday, cleared the appointment 06 Chief Vigilance officers (CVOs) in various PSUs.
- Mukesh Kumar (ITS:1995) has been appointed as CVO, RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. (RCIL), Delhi/NCR under the Ministry of Railways for period upto March 31, 2022. Presently, he is Director, Central Vigilance Commission.
- Ms. Arti Bhatnagar (IDAS:1990) has been appointed as CVO, Air India Limited (AIL), Delhi under the Ministry of Civil Aviation for a period upto September 30, 2021. She will also hold additional charge of CVO, Pawan Hans Ltd. (PHL), Delhi until appointment of a CVO on regular basis in PHL.
- Subrata Sarkar (IRSME:1991) has been appinted as CVO, Hindustan Copper Ltd. (HCL), Kolkata under the Ministry of Mines for an initial period of 3 years.

Four officers get new postings on lateral shift basis
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet on Friday approved appointment of four officers on lateral shift basis.
The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:
- Alok Tiwari (IAS:2007:UP), Deputy Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Finance Services on lateral shift basis for the balance period of his four years tenure i.e. upto August 21, 2020.
- Ms. Jyoti Yadav (IAS:2009:UD), DCO, Madhya Pradesh has been appointe to the post of Deputy Secretary in the D/o Commerce on lateral shift basis for balance period of her four years tenure i.e. upto June 13, 2023.
- Ms Mudita Mishra (IOFS:2001), Director, D/o Financial Services has been appointed to the post of Additional Development Commissioner (Director level) in the Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) under the M/o Textiles on lateral shift basis.
