The central government on Wednesday approved the appointment of Kamal Kishore as a member of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), for a fresh term of five years.
Nripendra Misra to oversee construction of Ram temple
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s former principal secretary Nripendra Misra (Retd. IAS:1967:UP) will head the temple construction committee of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust. He was elected as the head of the temple construction committee by members of the newly-formed trust on Wednesday. Misra has served as Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Modi from May 2014 to August 2019.

Sanjay Kothari tipped to be CVC, ex-IAS officer Bimal Julka is CIC
Sanjay Kothari (Retd IAS:1978:HY), the Secretary to the President, has been selected as the new Chief Vigilance Commissioner by a high-powered committee headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, officials said on Wednesday.
The committee has also chosen by a majority decision, former Information and Broadcasting Secretary Bimal Julka(Retd IAS:1979:MP), currently serving as an Information Commissioner, as the new Chief Information Commissioner in the Central Information Commission.
“Kothari and Julka have been selected as the next CVC and CIC,” a senior government official said.
Both Kothari and Julka are retired Indian Administrative Service officers.
While Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury opposed the decisions, it was supported by other members in the panel — Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Minister of State for PMO and Personnel Jitendra Singh, Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba and Secretary Personnel C Chandramouli, sources said.
The panel also decided by majority the appointment of Suresh Patel as Vigilance Commissioner and Anita Pandove as Information Commissioner.
The orders related to the appointments are expected to be issued on Wednesday after formal approval from President Ram Nath Kovind, the official said.
The Central Vigilance Commission is an-corruptiom watchdog with autonomous status.
It is free of control from any executive authority and has the responsibility of monitoring all vigilance activities in the Central government besides advising various authorities in planning, executing, reviewing and reforming their vigilance work.
The Central Information Commission was constituted under the Right to Information Act and has the jurisdiction over all central public authorities. (Source:PTI)

Nageswara Rao Y was on Tuesday appointed as Executive Director, Bank of Maharashtra (w.e.f. 31.03.2020) for a period ending 31.01.2021. He has been also given extension as OSD and Whole Time Director of Syndicate Bank beyond 21.01.2020 till 30.03.2020.
Supratim Bandyopadhyay appointed as Chairperson, PFRDA
Supratim Bandyopadhyay has been appointed as Chairperson, Pension Fund Regulator and Development Athourity (PFRDA), a body which regulates the National Pension Scheme subscribed by government and private employees from organised and unorganised sectors.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved Bandyopadhyay”s appointment for a period of five years, with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post or till attaining the age of 65 years or until further orders, whichever is the earliest, said a government order.
Bandyopadhyay was working as Member (Finance) in the PFRDA which is the regulator for promotion and development of an organised pension system to serve the old age income needs of people on a sustainable basis.
Anurag Sharma appointed as Director (Onshore), ONGC
Anurag Sharma has been appointed to the post of Director (Onshore), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post on or after 01.06.2020 till the date of his superannuation, i.e. 28.02.2023. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director, ONGC.
P K Goswami appointed as Director (Operations), OIL
Pankaj Kumar Goswami has been appointed to the post of Director (Operations), Oil India Limited (OIL), with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post on or after 01.06.2020 till the date of his superannuation i.e 30.09.24. Presently, he is serving as Chief General Manager (CGM), OIL.
None selected for the post of MD, NERAMAC
Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has failed to find suitable candidate for the post of Managing Director, North Eastern Regional Agriculture Marketing Corporation (NERAMAC ) at selection meeting held on February 14, 2020. The PESB interviewed only one candidate, Mrs. Korra Revathi, Deputy General Manager, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) for the job following which it announced that the administrative ministry/department might exercise alternative options to fill up the post.
