Jawed Ashraf to be India’s Next Ambassador to France
Senior diplomat Jawed Ashraf (IFS:1991) on Wednesday appointed as India’s next Ambassador to France. Presently, he is serving as Indian High Commissioner to Singapore.
Ashraf succeeds Vinay Mohan Kwatra (IFS:1995) as India’s Ambassador to France, considered a crucial posting in view of rising strategic ties between the two countries. Kwatra has been appointed India’s Ambassador to Nepal.

The Modi government has appointed as many as nine senior IRS (Income Tax) officers as Member, Income Tax Settlement Commission (ITSC) in various benches.

Delhi : S N Shrivastava appointed Spl. CP (Law & Order) of Delhi Police
Sachidanand Shrivastava (IPS:1985:AGMUT) was on Tuesday appointed as Special Commissioner (Law and Order) of Delhi Police with immediate effect to take control of Violence in the capital. He was repatriated from CRPF ahead of appointment as Special Commissioner (Law and Order).
Prior to his appointment as Special Commissioner (Law and Order) of Delhi Police, he was serving as Special Director General (Training) in CRPF.
It is understood that Mr. Srivastava may replace outgoing Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik as his extended tenure will end on February 29.
Assam : K C Samaria transferred as Principal Secretary, Guwahati Development Department
Kailash Chand Samaria (IAS:1993:AM), Principal Secretary, Higher Education and Principal Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi is transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Guwahati Development Department. He is allowed to continue as Principal Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi as additional charge.

Abhay Kumar Singh assumes charge as CMD of NHPC
Abhay Kumar Singh has taken charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of NHPC Limited on February 24. Prior to his appointment as CMD, he was serving as Executive Director in the same organisation. He was also acting as a Nominee Director in Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Development Corporation Limited.
Singh was recommended for the post of CMD of NHPC Limited by the PESB panel on August 20, 2019. He was selected from a list of three candidates who were interviewed by the selection. The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment for a period with effect from February 24, till the date of his superannuation i.e. August 31, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Odisha : Three IAS officials transferred
The Odisha government on Tuesday issued transfer and posting orders of three IAS officers in the state.

Rajasthan : Deepak Kumar relieved to join GoI as Deputy Director, Intelligence Bureau
Deepak Kumar (IPS:2004:RJ), on Tuesday, relieved by Rajasthan government and placed at the disposal of Government of India for appointment as Deputy Director (DIG Level), Intelligence Bureau on deputation basis for a period of five years. Preseently, he is serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Armed Battalion, Police Headquarters, Jaipur.
