Punjab : 19 IPS officers transferred

The Punjab government on Thursday issued transfer and posting orders of 19 IPS officers in the state.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :

  1. Vikram Jeet Singh Duggal (IPS:2007:PB) : SSP, Patiala.
  2. S Boopathi (IPS:2007:PB) : AIG, Personnel-I.
  3. Jaspreet Singh Sidhu (IPS:2008:PB) : SSP, Kapurthala.
  4. Swapan Sharma (IPS:2009:PB) : AIG, counter Intelligence.
  5. Dhruman H Nimbale (IPS:2010:PB) : SSP, Tarn Taran.
  6. J Elanchezhian (IPS:2010:PB) : Joint CP (Hqrs), Ludhiana.
  7. Nanak Singh (IPS:2011:PB) : AIG SB-II (Intelligence).
  8. Guarav Garg (IPS:2011:PB) : AIG, Personnel-I
  9. Deepak Hilori (IPS:2011:PB) : AIG, counterintelligence.
  10. Dhruv Dahiya (IPS:2012:PB) : SSP, Amritsar (Rural).
  11. Akhil Chaudhary (IPS:2012:PB) : SSP, Ropar.
  12. Gulneet Khurana (IPS:2012:PB) : SSP, Pathankot.

Gujarat : Ashish Bhatia appointed as new DGP ; Shivanand Jha retires

Senior IPS Officer Ashish Bhatia (IPS:1985:GJ) has been appointed as the Gujarat Director General of Police (DGP) by a notification order from the state Home department on Friday. Bhatia replaced Shivanand Jha (IPS:1983:GJ), who has retired from service. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as police commissioner of Ahmedabad city,

Bengaluru : Kamal Pant replaces Bhaskar Rao as new Police Commissioner

The Karnataka government Friday appointed senior IPS officer Kamal Pant (IPS:1990:KN) as the new Bengaluru City Police Commissioner. The official notification was issued a couple of days before the completion of the one-year tenure of incumbent Commissioner Bhaskar Rao (IPS:1990:KN).

As per the order, Rao is now posted as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Internal Security Division in Bengaluru until further orders.
