Former secretary of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry Bimal Julka (Retd.IAS:1979:MP) was on Friday appointed as Chief Information Commissioner.
The President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath of office to Julka as CIC in the Central Information Commission at a ceremony held here, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.
Julka, who was serving as Information Commissioner, fills in the vacancy created by incumbent Sudhir Bhargava who retired earlier this year.
