Bihar govt transfers 71 IPS officers; Kundan Krishnan is now DGP (Operations), STF

The Bihar government on Friday (January 9, 2026) carried out a major reshuffle in the police administration, reassigning as many as 71 IPS officers to new roles. The transfer list reflects wide-ranging changes across senior and field-level positions. Among the most significant decisions is the appointment of Kundan Krishnan as Director General of Police (Operations), Special Task Force, with additional charge of the Special Branch, a move seen as underscoring the government’s focus on strengthening law and order in the state.

2.
