Bihar: 9 IAS officers shifted, 6 Districts welcome new Collector and District Magistrate appointments

The Bihar government on Tuesday (26.09.2023) took a significant step to revamp the state’s administrative framework by issuing transfer and posting orders for nine IAS officers. Among these changes, five Collector and District Magistrate positions underwent alterations, with three officers being reassigned to different districts and three fresh faces assuming the roles of Collector and District Magistrate. This restructuring effort resulted in six districts having new appointees in the positions of Collector and District Magistrate.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

1. Avanish Kumar Singh (IAS:2010:BH), Collector and District Magistrate, Jamui, has been transferred and posted as Collector and District Magistrate, Munger.
2. Pankaj Kumar (IAS:2010:BH), Director, Primary Education, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Collector and District Magistrate, Sheohar.
3. Rakesh Kumar (IAS:2010:BH), Joint Secretary, CM Secretariat, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Collector and District Magistrate, Jamui.
4. Mithilesh Mishra (IAS:2011:BH), Director, Mid Day Meal, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Director, Primary Education, Patna.
5. Naveen Kumar (IAS:2011:BH), Collector and District Magistrate, Munger, has been transferred and posted as Collector and District Magistrate, Rohtas, Sasaram.
6. Shrikant Shashtri (IAS:2012:BH), Collector and District Magistrate, Kishanganj, has been transferred and posted as Collector and District Magistrate, Aurangabad.
7. Dharmendra Kumar (IAS:2013:BH), Collector and District Magistrate, Rohtas, Sasaram, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department.
8. Suharsh Bhagat (IAS:2015:BH), Collector and District Magistrate, Aurangabad, has been transferred and posted as Additional Executive Director, State Health Board, Patna.
9. Tushar Singla (IAS:2015:BH), Joint Secretary, Finance Department with additional charge of Chief General Manager, Bihar Development Mission, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Collector and District Magistrate, Kishanganj.
