IAS officer Bhupinder Kumar (IAS:2011:AGMUT), who was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG), New Delhi.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (November 7, 2025), Kumar’s appointment is for a period of five years under the Central Staffing Scheme, from the date he assumes charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Notably, Bhupinder Kumar is presently serving as Secretary, Jammu & Kashmir Public Works (R&B) Department, with additional charges as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, as well as Resident Commissioner, J&K Government, New Delhi.
