The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has selected Balasugumar Daniel for appointment as Director (Operations), Cement Corporation of India (CCI) Limited, in a meeting held on August 8, 2025. He is currently serving as Chief General Manager I/c (Works), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
Following the selection, the PESB has recommended his name to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval. His appointment will be subject to the receipt of necessary vigilance clearances and the ACC’s nod.
A total of nine candidates were interviewed for the post, including:

- Puneet Agarwal – General Manager (Business Planning), Steel Authority of India Limited
- Enni Varana Venkata Gopala Krishna – Deputy General Manager (Mech), Blast Furnace (Operation), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited
- Mamidi Prabhakar – Deputy General Manager, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited
