B.P. Kanungo, Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), was on Friday given a one-year extension of service by the Central Government. His extension will be effective from April 2, 2020.
Kanungo was executive director of the RBI before being elevated to the post of deputy governor in April 2017. He is in charge of departments like currency management, payments and settlement, foreign exchange, internal debt management, among others.
