The tenure of Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha as Secretary in the Ministry of AYUSH has been extended for one year on a contract basis. This is his third extension. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved this extension on Tuesday (18.06.2024) extending his tenure beyond June 28, 2024.
Kotecha was initially appointed as Special Secretary in the Ministry of AYUSH in June 2017 for a three-year contract. In October 2017, he was made Secretary of AYUSH. His first extension, for two years, was granted in May 2020. In 2022, he received a second two-year extension.
