Prominent Assam police officer Anand Mishra (IPS:2011:AM), currently holding the position of Superintendent of Police (SP) in Lakhimpur, has officially resigned from his service effective January 16, 2024.

Anand Mishra submitted his resignation to Assam Chief Secretary Pawan Borthakur on December 18, citing his decision to pursue other social and personal goals in life as the reason for stepping down from his current role.

Notably, Mishra, along with SP Randeep Baruah, was recently entrusted with the responsibility of leading Special Investigation Teams (SITs) formed to probe incidents in Manipur. Prior to his assignment as SP Lakhimpur, he served as the SP of Nagaon.
