Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta (IPS:1988:AM) was on Friday appointed as the new Director General of Police (incharge) of Assam. He will look after the current duties of DGP, Assam in addition to existing duties as the incumbent DGP Kuladhar Saikia (IPS:1985:AM) is retiring on 30.11.2019. He is presently serving as the Special DGP (Border).
