The central deputation tenure of Ashish Gupta (IRSME:2014) as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Rural Development has been extended. An order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (September 29, 2025) stated that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal of the Department of Rural Development to extend his tenure by two years beyond December 30, 2025, up to December 30, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
