The Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday (02.07.2024) appointed senior IPS officer Mahesh Chandra Laddha (IPS:1998:AP) as Additional Director General of Police, Intelligence. He succeeds Kumar Vishwajeet (IPS:1994:AP). Mahesh Chandra Laddha was on central deputation as Inspector General of Police in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
When the Telugu Desam Party government was formed under the Chief Ministership of Chandra Babu Naidu, the state government wrote a letter to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) seeking the repatriation of Laddha to his parent cadre in Andhra Pradesh. The MHA repatriated him to his parent cadre immediately on June 26.
In 2020, the state government placed Mahesh Chandra Laddha’s services at the disposal of the MHA for appointment to the post of IGP, CRPF on a deputation basis for five years.
