The three senior IPS officers, suspended by the Andhra Pradesh government for alleged harassment and wrong confinement of Mumbai-based actress Kadambari Jethwani, are planning to move the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) challenging their suspension by the government. According to sources, the three officers, former intelligence chief PSR Anjaneyulu (IPS:1992:AP), former police commissioner of Vijayawada Kranti Rana Tata (IPS:2004:AP) and former Vijayawada deputy commissioner Vishal Gunni (IPS:2010:AP), will be arguing that they were suspended on the basis of a frivolous complaint without establishing their involvement through a proper investigation.

The three officers were suspended after the actress filed a police complaint against them alleging that she and her father were picked by police, brought to Vijayawada and kept in confinement for three days illegally. In her complaint she alleged that the action was taken against her in haste at the behest of YSRCP leader and film producer K V Vidyasagar Rao, who accused her of forgery and extortion.

Based on her complaint, the AP police chief had ordered a probe. The probe report said that IPS officers, Kranthi Rana Tata and Vishal Gunni, proceeded to arrest the actress even before producer Vidyasagar Rao had formally lodged a police complaint. The report said that it was done on the direction of former intelligence DG Anjaneyulu. The finding is believed to have paved the way for the government action against the trio.

The actress had also named two more police officers, an ACP and a circle inspector, in her complaint. They are already serving suspension.
