According to our sources, Amitava Mukherjee is likely to be selected as the full-time Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of NMDC Limited. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) conducted interviews today, considering 10 candidates for the position. It is likely that PESB has recommended Mukherjee’s name to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet for final clearance.
The CMD role at NMDC has been filled on an interim basis since the retirement of Sumit Deb on 31.01.2023, with Mukherjee, the senior-most board member and Director (Finance), taking on additional CMD responsibilities.
