Within a week of returning from Central Deputation, senior bureaucrat Amit Yadav (IAS:1991:UT) has been appointed as the Chairman of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), according to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Prior to this, Amit Yadav was Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, and Director General, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
He succeeds Bhupinder Singh Bhalla (IAS:1990:UT) as the NDMC Chairman.
Bhalla was appointed as an officer on special duty (OSD) last week in the Ministry of New and Renewal Energy and will assume the position of Secretary at the end of this month when incumbent Indu Shekhar Chaturvedi (IAS:1987:JH) completes his term.
