Senior Indian Foreign Service officer Amit Shivkumar Telang (IFS:2005) has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the Joint Secretary level in the Department of Defence for a tenure of three years.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (December 31, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved Telange’s appointment for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Telange will succeed Vishwesh Negi (IFS:2002), who had been serving in the position since January 2023 and completed his tenure on November 14, 2025.
