Amit Kumar (IPS:2006:AGMUT), currently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has been promoted to the rank of Inspector General (IG) in NIA. According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday (14.01.2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal of NIA to promote Mr. Kumar to the post of IG in NIA from the date of joining the post.
His promotion follow recent empanelment (on January 2, 2025) to hold IG-level position at the Centre.
