Amit Kumar Agrawal’s tenure as Deputy CEO of GeM curtailed

The government has curtailed the tenure of Amit Kumar Agrawal (IOFS:2002) as Deputy CEO of Government e-Marketplace (GeM), ending it before May 2026.

The tenure of Amit Kumar Agrawal (IOFS:2002) as Deputy CEO of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) has been curtailed. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (September 4, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal of the Department of Commerce to end his tenure ahead of schedule.

Agrawal was initially appointed as Director, GeM, in May 2021 for a fixed tenure of five years. He was subsequently promoted to Deputy CEO, with his term originally set to conclude in May 2026. However, the government has decided to curtail his tenure before completion.
