In an important development, the Bihar government on Wednesday (18.12.2024) assigned senior IPS officer Alok Raj (IPS:1989:BH) the additional charge of Chairman of the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (SSC). He is currently serving as DG-cum-Chairman-cum-MD of the Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation (BPBCC).
It is worth noting that Alok Raj was recently transferred from the position of State Police Chief and posted as DG of BPBCC. He was succeeded by Vinay Kumar (IPS:1991:BH), who was appointed as the new DGP of Bihar.
Mohammad Sohail (IAS:2007:BH), Secretary of the Minorities Affairs Department, who has been holding the additional charges of Chairman of Bihar SSC and Secretary, General Administration Department, will now relinquish the charge of Chairman of Bihar SSC.
