Additional Director General of Police Alok Kumar (IPS:1994:KN) took charge as the new Police Commissioner of Bengaluru city on Monday. Outgoing Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar formally exchenged the baton with Alok Kumar, handing over the charge to him.
In a major reshuffle on Sunday, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime, Alok Kumar was promoted to the position of Bengaluru police commissioner replacing T Suneel Kumar, who was transferred as ADGP, Recruitment.
Alok Kumar was first posted in Bengaluru as the DCP (South division) in 2010. He has since held several postings including additional commissioner of police (Law & Order), joint commissioner of crime and head of the Anti-Naxal Force based in Udupi.
