Additional Chief Secretary Alok Kumar (IAS:1984:AM) took charge as the new Chief Secretary of the State on Friday. He took over charge from incumbent Chief Secretary TY Das(IAS:1982:AM), who retired on 31st August. Kumar was serving as the Additional Chief Secretary of Home and Political Department, PWD & Environment & Forest Department of Assam.
Alok Kumar was previously also the Secretary of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), country’s top anti-corruption body.
Additionally, Kumar Sanjay Krishna has been appointed as the new Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Political Department and relieved from food and civil supplies department. Additional CS Rajiv Bora has been given the additional responsibility of finance and hills area development. Additional CS Ravi Capoor has been given the additional charge of environment and forest.
Commissioner & secretary Amlan Barua has been given the additional responsibility of social welfare.
