New Delhi, May 20, 2025: Akhilesh Kumar (IPS:2005:UP), currently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the same force.
According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday, the competent authority has approved his appointment as IG from the date he assumes charge. He will continue in the post until the end of his central deputation period or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
His central deputation to CISF was approved with the issuance of his DIG appointment order on January 4, 2025. The tenure is valid for five years, till January 4, 2030. Following his empanelment on May 10, 2025, for holding IG-level posts in the Government of India, he has now been posted accordingly.
