Ajit Kumar Ranjan appointed Deputy Secretary in DoPT

Ajit Kumar Ranjan (IAS:2015:NL) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), New Delhi.

According to an order issued by the DoPT on Tuesday (September 16, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his appointment to the post till June 30, 2028 — marking a combined tenure of four years at the Deputy Secretary level by clubbing his ex-cadre deputation and Central Secretariat Service (CSS) deputation — or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
