The Himachal Pradesh government has appointed senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Ajay Kumar Yadav (IPS:1996:HP) as the new Principal Resident Commissioner (PRC) at the state’s office in New Delhi.
Prior to this appointment, Yadav was serving as Additional Director General (ADG), Crime and Special Task Force in the Himachal Pradesh Police. He replaces Sushil Kumar Singla (IFS:1994:HP), who was holding the post as an additional charge.
The Principal Resident Commissioner plays a vital role in representing the state’s interests before the Central Government, coordinating with various Union Ministries and departments, and ensuring smooth administrative functioning related to Himachal Pradesh in the national capital.
