Eminent physicist Ajay Kumar Sood was on Wednesday (20.04.2022) appointed as the Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA) to the Government of India. He replaces renowned biologist K Vijay Raghavan. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Prof. Sood to the post for a period of three years with effect from the date he assumes charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Presently, he is serving as a Member of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Council to the Prime Minister.
