AGMUT Cadre: 20 IPS officers promoted to DIG, four get proforma promotion

MHA promotes 20 AGMUT cadre IPS officers of 2012 batch to DIG rank, while four officers on central deputation receive proforma promotion.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday (December 19, 2025) promoted 20 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the AGMUT cadre from the 2012 batch to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), while four other officers of the same batch, currently serving on central deputation, were granted proforma promotion to the DIG grade. According to the order, the promotions to DIG grade (Level-13A in the Pay Matrix) will take effect from January 1, 2026, or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is later.

The promoted officers are Manoj Kumar Meena, Sargun Shukla, Rohit Meena, Nidhin Valsan, Abhishek Dhania, Ravi Kumar Singh, Devesh Kumar Mahla, Jitendra Kumar Meena, Rajesh Deo, Rakesh Paweriya, Bhisham Singh, Rajeev Ranjan, Mohammed Ali, Dingluaia, Sandeep Wazir, Anita Sharma, Jatinder Singh Johar, Swarn Singh Kotwal, Zahid Nasim Manhas and Dr Koshal Kumar Sharma.

In addition, four AGMUT cadre IPS officers of the 2012 batch currently serving on central deputation have been granted proforma promotion to the DIG grade on an actual basis, effective from January 1, 2026, or from the date of assumption of charge of their immediate juniors in the cadre. These officers are M Harsha Vardhan, Dr Navdeep Singh Brar, Sandeep Choudhary and Guripal Singh.
