ACC extends IPS Saket Kumar Singh’s tenure as CRPF IG by two years

ACC approves 2-year extension of IPS officer Saket Kumar Singh as CRPF IG beyond March 2026.

The deputation tenure of Saket Kumar Singh (IPS:2002:JH) as Inspector General (IG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been extended by two years.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (March 20, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal to extend his deputation tenure for a period of two years beyond March 11, 2026. With this, his total deputation tenure will be seven years, granted in relaxation of the IPS tenure policy.

Singh has been serving as IG in CRPF since January 2022. Prior to this, he served as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) from March 2021.

His initial deputation tenure of five years was scheduled to end on March 10, 2026. With the latest approval, he will now continue in the post for an additional two years.
