The deputation tenure of Kuldeep Dwivedi (IPS:2005:JH), Joint Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been extended for two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (November 7, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the proposal to extend his tenure beyond January 17, 2026 (making it a total of seven years) or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Dwivedi has been serving in the CBI since September 2023, following his lateral shift from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), where he held the post of Deputy Inspector General (DIG). His appointment as DIG in ITBP was made in October 2020.
