The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Thursday (January 1, 2026) approved the redesignation of four officers from the 2012 batch of various services—three IAS officers and one IDES officer—to the post of Director. The redesignation will take effect from January 1, 2026.
All four officers are currently serving at the Deputy Secretary level in different ministries and departments. Those redesignated include Praveen Singh Adhayach (IAS:2012:MP), who is serving as Private Secretary to Union Minister for Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan; Vikram Singh Malik (IAS:2012:AGMUT), posted in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting; Alagu Varsini VS (IAS:2012:TG), serving in the Department of Rural Development; and Anupam Talwar (IDES:2012), who is posted as Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary level) at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA).
