The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Wednesday (December 10, 2025) approved the redesignation of six officers from the 2011 and 2012 batches of various services to the post of Director, with the change coming into effect from January 1, 2026. All six officers are currently serving as Deputy Secretaries in different ministries and departments.
Those elevated include Prasad Arvind Chaphekar (IRS-IT:2012) in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy; Vaibhav Rundwal (IES:2012) in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs; Puneet Meena (IRAS:2011) in the Central Vigilance Commission; Mayank Tyagi (IDAS:2012) in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways; Manender (IDAS:2011) in the Central Vigilance Commission; and Sushant Sudan (IES:2012) in the Department of Commerce (GeM).
