ACC approves appointments of 30 officers at Joint Secretary, equivalent levels

In a major administrative rejig on Tuesday (18.07.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a number of appointments of officers at the Joint Secretary/ Joint Secretary equivalent level posts in various departments.

In a major administrative rejig on Tuesday (18.07.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a number of appointments of officers at the Joint Secretary/ Joint Secretary equivalent level posts in various departments.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :

  1. Ajeet K. Sahu (IAS:2003:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for a period of five years. He will replace Ms. Vijaya Lakshmi Nadendla (IAS:1995:BH).
  2. Bishwajit Kumar Singh (IFoS:1989:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH for a tenure upto his superannuation on 31.01.2025. He will replace Pramod Kumar Pathak (IFoS:1986).
  3. Virendra Mittal (IAS:2007:AM) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat for an overall tenure of five years upto 13.11.2024 by temporarily upgrading the post of Director held by the officer to Joint Secretary level, to be further adjustable against a regular vacancy of Joint Secretary in the Department.
  4. Sajeesh Kumar N (IRTS:2002) has been appointed as Coal Controller, O/o Coal Controller under the Ministry of Coal for a tenure of five years.
  5. Abhishek Dev (IAS:2007:AGMUT) has been appointed as Chairman, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Department of Commerce for an overall tenure of five years upto 08.02.2026. He replaces M. Angamuthu (IAS:2002:AM).
  6. Satyajit Mohanty (IRS-IT:1999) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence for a combined tenure of five years up to 09.07.2025.
  7. Alok Tiwari (IAS:2007:UP), PS to Minister for Defence, has been appointed as PS to Minister for Defence (Joint Secretary level), on co-terminus basis with the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by temporarily upgrading the post held by the officer as PS to Minister for Defence to Joint Secretary level.
  8. Juhi Mukherjee (IAS:2007:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs for an overall tenure of five years upto 13.10.2025 vice Rajat Kumar Mishra (IAS:1992:RJ).
  9. Sanket S. Bhondve (IAS:2007:MP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology for a combined tenure of seven years upto 25.04.2025 vice Jaideep K Mishra (ICAS-1993).
  10. Tina Soni (IAS:2007:RJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Fertilizers for a combined tenure of seven years upto 06.03.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by temporarily upgrading the post of Director held by the officer to Joint Secretary level, to be further adjustable against a regular vacancy of Joint Secretary in the Department.
  11. Parshant Kumar Goyal (IAS:2007:TR) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Financial Services for an overall tenure of five years upto 22.06.2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Suchindra Misra (IDAS:1992).
  12. Neetu Kumari Prasad (IAS:2001:TG) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Fisheries, from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He will replace J Balaji (IAS:2001:AM).
  13. Vipul Aggarwal (IPS:2001:GJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Health & Family Welfare, from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years upto 15.03.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He will replace Mandeep K Bhandari (IAS:2001:AGMUT).
  14. Richa Khoda (IRS-IT:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Health Research for a tenure of five years vice Geeta Narayan (CSS).
  15. Govind Jaiswal (IAS:2007:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Higher Education for an overall tenure of five years upto 11.10.2025. He replaces Vineet Joshi (IAS:1992:MN).
  16. Pausumi Basu (IAS:2007:TG) has been in the Ministry of Home Affairs for an overall tenure of five years upto 15.03.2027.
  17. Anant Kishore Saran (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs for an overall tenure upto his superannuation on 31.10.2025 vice Sunil Kumar Barnwal (IAS:1997:JH).
  18. Jitendra Singh Raje (IAS:2007:SK) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs for an overall tenure upto 01.06.2024 vice Srinivas Danda (IRS-IT:1992).
  19. Jayant Singh (IRTS:1993) has been appointed as Adviser, NITI Aayog for a combined tenure of five years upto 29.04.2026 vice Ms. Archafla Goyal Gulati (IP&TA&FS).
  20. Nila Mohanan (IAS:2007:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) for an overall tenure of five years upto 04.10.2025 vice Rashmi Chowdhary (IRPS:1989).
  21. Shyama Prasad Roy (CSS) has been given additional charge of Secretary, Capacity Building Commission (CBC), Department of Personnel & Training.
  22. Nita Kejrewal (CSS) has been appointed as Secretary, Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) under the Department of Personnel & Training for a tenure upto her superannuation on 31.07.2025.
  23. Asheesh Joshi (IAS:2006:UD) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for an overall tenure of five years upto 01.12.2025. He replaces Navneet Mohan Kothari (IAS:2001:MP).
  24. Ravindra Pratap Singh (IAS:2007:OD) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals for an overall tenure of five years upto 14.02.2024. He replaces N Yuvaraj (IAS:2005:AP).
  25. Shashank Misra (IAS:2007:MP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Power for an overall tenure of five years upto 31.10.2027 vice Raghuraj M.Rajendran (IAS:2004:MP).
  26. Vyasan R (IAS:2007:NL) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office for a combined tenure of seven years upto 23.08.2023 by temporarily upgrading the post of Director held by the officer to JS level.
  27. Rajat Kumar Saini (IAS:2007:TG) has been appointed as CEO & MD, National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Ltd. (NICDCL), under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade for an overall tenure of five years upto 17.01.2028.
  28. Abbishek Bhagotia (IAS:2007:AM) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Rural Development for an overall tenure of five years upto 03.04.2027 vice Ms. Nita Kejrewal (CSS).
  29. Biswaranjan Sasmal (IRS-IT:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a tenure upto his superannuation on 28.02.2026. He will replace Ms. Kalyani Chadha (IRSME:1988).
  30. Nalin Kumar Srivastava (ICAS:2001) has been appointed as ED/DDG, National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) under the Department of Water & Ganga Rejuvenation for a tenure of five years.
