ACC approves Apex Pay Scale for IPS officers Alok Sharma and G P Singh

ACC grants Apex pay scale to senior IPS officers Alok Sharma, SPG Director, and G P Singh, DG CRPF, elevating them to Level-17 in the pay matrix.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Saturday (August 2, 2025) approved the grant of the Apex pay scale (Level-17 in the pay matrix) to two senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers with immediate effect.

They are;

  1. Alok Sharma (IPS:1991:UP) – Currently serving as Director, Special Protection Group (SPG). He is scheduled to retire on June 30, 2026.
  2. G P Singh (IPS:1991:AM) – Presently posted as Director General, CRPF. He will retire on November 30, 2027.
