Akshay Gopal appointed as Deputy Secretarty in Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas

Akshay Gopal (IA&AS:2016), who was recommended for central deputation by the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Delhi, for four years.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (October 14, 2026), his appointment has been approved under the Central Staffing Scheme for four years from the date of taking charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
