Amit Dhaka (IAS:2006:PB) has joined as Special Secretary to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Last week, the central government has approved a three year inter cadre deputation of Amit Dhaka from Punjab to Rajasthan.
Amit Dhaka hails from Rajasthan and is BSc and MBA. He has served Bathinda as Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation. He had also served as SDM of Abohar and Additional Deputy Commissioners of Amritsar and Sri Mukatsar Sahib. He has also served as Deputy Commissioner of Hoshiarpur and Mansa for long period, where he brought out qualitative changes in Public Grievances Redress system and implemented administrative reforms in the Mansa administration.
Recently, Amit Dhaka was serving as Secretary of Punjab Mandi Board. He has also been posted as Director Mining, where he has taken various initiatives to check the illegal mining activity in the different districts. His efforts to curb the illegal mining have proved beneficial for state.
