New Delhi: The tenure of Arunkumar Kembhavi (IAS:2011:AM) as Director in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation has been curtailed.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (September 16, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for curtailment of his tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme.
Khembhavi assumed charge as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation on October 26, 2021, for an initial tenure of four years, which was scheduled to end on October 25, 2025.
In January 2025, he was re-designated as Director in the same department, with his tenure as Director extended up to October 25, 2026.
His five-year central deputation tenure was thus due to be completed on October 26, 2026. With the latest order, his tenure in the department has now been curtailed.
