Bihar govt transfers 18 IPS officers; Five districts get new SPs

Patna: The Bihar government on Tuesday (August 18, 2026) issued transfer and posting orders for 18 IPS officers across the state. Among the officers transferred, five have been appointed as new police chiefs in five districts.

The names of the officers and their new postings are as follows:

1. Anil Kumar (IPS:2010:BH), Deputy Inspector General, Wireless and Technical Services, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General, Prohibition & ANTF, Bihar, Patna.
2. Mrityunjay Kumar Chaudhary (IPS:2010:BH), Deputy Inspector General, Vigilance Investigation Bureau, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General, Civil Defence, Patna.
3. Rajiv Ranjan-2 (IPS:2012:BH), Deputy Inspector General, Human Rights, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General, Special Vigilance Unit, Patna.
4. Ajay Kumar Pandey (IPS:2012:BH), Deputy Inspector General, Prohibition & ANTF, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General, Wireless and Technical Services, Patna.
5. Aamir Jawaid (IPS:2012:BH), Deputy Inspector General (Weaker Section & Women Cell), Crime Investigation Department, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General, Vigilance Investigation Bureau, Patna.
6. Mithilesh Kumar (IPS:2012:BH), Superintendent of Police, ERSS, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, Bihar Special Armed Police-9, Jamalpur.
7. Sushil Kumar (IPS:2012:BH), Deputy Inspector General, Legal Matters & Rules, Patna, has been given additional charge of Deputy Inspector General, Human Rights, Patna.
8. Hriday Kant (IPS:2015:BH), Superintendent of Police, Anti-Terrorist Squad, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Nalanda.
9. Rajesh Kumar (IPS:2016:BH), Superintendent of Police, Cyber Investigation & Campaign, Economic Offences Unit, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, ANTF, Prohibition & State Narcotics Control Bureau, Patna.
10. Manish Kumar (IPS:2017:BH), Superintendent of Police (B), Special Branch, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Special Vigilance Unit, Patna.
11. Vineet Kumar (IPS:2017:BH), Senior Superintendent of Police, Saran, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Anti-Terrorist Squad, Patna.
12. Purn Kumar Jha (IPS:2018:BH), Superintendent of Police, Siwan, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, awaiting posting, Bihar Police Headquarters, Patna.
13. Ramanand Kumar Kaushal (IPS:2018:BH), Superintendent of Police (C), Crime Investigation Department, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Special Vigilance Unit, Patna.
14. Roshan Kumar (IPS:2019:BH), Superintendent of Police, Rohtas, has been transferred and posted as Senior Superintendent of Police, Saran.
15. Awadhesh Dixit (IPS:2019:BH), Superintendent of Police (Personnel-1), Bihar Police Headquarters, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Bhojpur.
16. Bharat Soni (IPS:2019:BH), Superintendent of Police, Nalanda, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Siwan.
17. Mr. Raj (IPS:2019:BH), Superintendent of Police, Bhojpur, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Rohtas.
18. Garima (IPS:2022:BH), Commandant, Bihar Special Armed Police-9, Jamalpur, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (Weaker Section & Women Cell), Crime Investigation Department, Patna.
