New Delhi: Smruti Ranjan Sethy (IRSME:1994), currently serving as Director (Joint Secretary level), Inspection & Quality Control, Export Inspection Council of India (EIC), New Delhi, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (August 3, 2026), the competent authority has approved the proposal of the Department of Commerce for his premature repatriation to the parent cadre to enable him to avail the benefits of promotion in his cadre.
Sethy’s appointment as Director (JS level), Inspection & Quality Control in the Export Inspection Council of India (EIC) was notified on December 31, 2025, for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on June 30, 2029. However, his central deputation has now been curtailed to facilitate his promotion in the cadre.
