New Delhi: IPS officer Santosh Rastogi (IPS:1998:MH) has been appointed as Additional Director General (ADG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the competent authority has approved his appointment to the post from the date of assumption of charge till his approved tenure in the NIA, i.e. August 5, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Rastogi has been serving as Inspector General (IG) in the NIA since August 5, 2020. He was initially appointed for a five-year tenure, which was extended by two years in March 2025, allowing him to continue in the agency till August 5, 2027.
Notably, Rastogi was empanelled for holding Additional Director General (ADG)-level posts in the Government of India in March 2026. His appointment as ADG in the NIA follows the empanelment.
