Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has received over 1,000 applications for the post of its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with retired IAS, IPS and other senior government officers figuring prominently among the applicants.
The recruitment drive has drawn an overwhelming response from across the country. Former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur has also confirmed that he has applied for the post. Applications for the post can be submitted till 4:00 PM on Saturday (July 18, 2026).
Sources associated with the selection process said the large number of applications has prompted the Trust to strengthen the scrutiny process. A three-member expert committee will screen the applications and prepare a shortlist of suitable candidates, while the final appointment will be made by the Trust.
The CEO post has been created as part of an administrative overhaul aimed at strengthening financial oversight, enhancing institutional accountability and streamlining the day-to-day management of the Trust.
The selection committee comprises Justice (Retd.) Pramod Kohli, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Vishnukant Chaturvedi, and Suresh Haware, former Chairman of NIT Raipur and current Chairman of the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust.
Applicants for the post must have at least 20 years of managerial or administrative experience, be between 50 and 70 years of age, and be willing to reside in Ayodhya. The CEO will initially be appointed for a three-year term, extendable based on satisfactory performance.
