Kerala govt transfers 30 IPS officers; P Vijayan appointed new ADGP, Law & Order

In the first major reshuffle of IPS officers after the UDF government assumed office, the Kerala government on Thursday (June 11, 2026) transferred and posted 30 IPS officers, replacing several officers holding key positions.

The reshuffle comes close on the heels of a recent rejig of IAS officers in the state and brings significant changes across intelligence, law and order, crime branch and district policing assignments.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

1. S Sreejith (IPS:1996:KL), ADGP, Headquarters, has been transferred and posted as ADGP, Prisons and Correctional Services.
2. Balram Kumar Upadhyay (IPS:1997:KL), ADGP, Prisons and Correctional Services, has been transferred and posted as ADGP, Armed Police Battalion.
3. H Venkatesh (IPS:1998:KL), ADGP, Law & Order with additional charge of Crime Branch, has been transferred and posted as ADGP, Crime Branch.
4. Dinendra Kashyap (IPS:1998:KL), ADGP, Armed Police Battalion, has been transferred and posted as ADGP, Intelligence.
5. P Vijayan (IPS:1999:KL), ADGP, Intelligence, has been transferred and posted as ADGP, Law & Order with full additional charge of ADGP, Cyber Operations.
6. Harshita Attaluri (IPS:2002:KL), IGP, Traffic & Road Safety Management, has been transferred and posted as IGP, Headquarters.
7. S Syamsundar (IPS:2005:AP), IGP, Intelligence, has been transferred and posted as IGP, Crime Branch.
8. R Nishanthini (IPS:2008:KL), IGP, Headquarters, has been transferred and posted as IGP, Intelligence.
9. Yathish Chandra G H (IPS:2011:KL), DIG, Kannur Range, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Ernakulam Range.
10. Karthick K (IPS:2011:KL), DIG & Commissioner of Police, Thiruvananthapuram City, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Thrissur Range.
11. Narayanan T (IPS:2011:KL), DIG, Thrissur Range, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Kannur Range.
12. Arul R B Krishna (IPS:2012:KL), DIG, Ernakulam Range, has been transferred and posted as DIG & Commissioner of Police, Thiruvananthapuram City.
13. Merin Joseph (IPS:2013:KL), Commissioner of Police, Kozhikode City, has been transferred and posted as District Police Chief, Kozhikode Rural.
14. Shoukathali A P (IPS:2015:KL), SP, Crime Branch, Alappuzha, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Police, Kozhikode City.
15. Prasanthan Kani B K (IPS:2016:KL), Chief Vigilance Officer, Kerala State Electricity Board, has been transferred and posted as District Police Chief, Thiruvananthapuram Rural.
16. Sabu Mathew K M (IPS:2016:KL), District Police Chief, Idukki, has been transferred and posted as District Police Chief, Kottayam.
17. Shaji Sugunan (IPS:2016:KL), Director, Kerala Women’s Commission, has been transferred and posted as District Police Chief, Kollam Rural.
18. Vishnu Pratheep T K (IPS:2018:KL), District Police Chief, Kollam Rural, has been transferred and posted as District Police Chief, Alappuzha.
19. Abdul Rashi A (IPS:2018:KL), SP, Economic Offences Wing, Thiruvananthapuram Range, has been transferred and posted as District Police Chief, Palakkad.
20. S Deva Manohar (IPS:2018:KL), Additional Excise Commissioner (Enforcement), has been transferred and posted as District Police Chief, Wayanad.
21. B Krishna Kumar (Sr) (IPS:2018:KL), District Police Chief, Thrissur Rural, has been transferred and posted as SP, Railways.
22. Nidhinraj P (IPS:2019:KL), Commissioner of Police, Kannur City, has been transferred and posted as District Police Chief, Kasargode.
23. B V Vijaya Bharath Reddy (IPS:2019:KL), District Police Chief, Kasargode, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Police, Kannur City.
24. Anuj Paliwal (IPS:2019:KL), District Police Chief, Kannur Rural, has been transferred and posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police, Law & Order, Police Headquarters.
25. Farash T (IPS:2019:KL), District Police Chief, Kozhikode Rural, has been transferred and posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police, Coastal Police, Ernakulam.
26. Mohanachandran Nair M P (IPS:2019:KL), District Police Chief, Alappuzha, has been transferred and posted as SP, Crime Branch, Kozhikode & Wayanad.
27. Mohammad Nadeemuddin (IPS:2020:KL), SP, Railways, has been transferred and posted as District Police Chief, Thrissur Rural.
28. Umesh Goyal (IPS:2022:KL), SP, Telecom, has been transferred and posted as District Police Chief, Kannur Rural.
29. Dr Nasim A (IPS:2023:SL), SP, Marine Enforcement, has been transferred and posted as District Police Chief, Idukki.
30. C S Shahul Hameed (IPS:2024:SL), Assistant Inspector General of Police, Coastal Police, Ernakulam, has been transferred and posted as SP, Central Unit-I, Crime Branch, Thiruvananthapuram.
