Mahatme Sandeep Namdeo gets one-year extension as Joint Secretary in MHA

IAS officer Mahatme Sandeep Namdeo’s central deputation tenure in the Ministry of Home Affairs has been extended by one year.

The central deputation tenure of Mahatme Sandeep Namdeo (IAS:2010:TR) as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has been extended by one year.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (June 1, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs to extend his deputation tenure for a period of one year beyond May 9, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Notably, Namdeo has been serving in the Ministry of Home Affairs since April 13, 2026.

Before joining MHA, he was serving as Private Secretary to Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Union Minister for Panchayati Raj and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, a position he had held since August 2024.

Namdeo had originally joined Central deputation on May 9, 2021 as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW) for a tenure of four years.

Later, in August 2021, he was appointed as Private Secretary to Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Communications. Subsequently, he moved to serve as Private Secretary to Rajiv Ranjan Singh before taking over his current assignment in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
