MHA appoints two IPS officers on deputation

MHA grants central deputation postings to IPS officers Surendra Kumar Jha and Sandeep Kumar Garg in BSF and NIA.

In a key development, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has granted central deputation postings to two IPS officers — Jharkhand cadre officer Surendra Kumar Jha (IPS:2010:JH) and Punjab cadre officer Sandeep Kumar Garg (IPS:2012:PB).

According to an official order, Surendra Kumar Jha has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Border Security Force (BSF) on deputation basis. The competent authority has approved his appointment under the usual terms and conditions of central deputation. Prior to his central deputation, he was serving as DIG (Personnel) at the Jharkhand Police Headquarters in Ranchi.

In a separate order, Sandeep Kumar Garg has been inducted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on deputation basis against an existing vacancy. Before his appointment at the Centre, he was serving as DIG in the Punjab Police Intelligence Wing at SAS Nagar (Mohali).
